The target audience for these summmaries are those people who haven't seen it all, but are so hooked they have-to-have-it-all-NOW. You know who you are. Don't mind my dry sarcasm, and I'll try to keep my personal comments separate.
Please note that more often than not, all 'quotes' are paraphrases- not exact quotes.
On the Danaan-
Tessa is pleased to see that Kaname's class's upcoming field trip is to Okinawa. Tessa had lived there some years as a child. Kalinin shares a report about a secret russian base assumed to be working on 'whispered' reasearch, and also mentions strange drugs showing up in the USSR as evidence. Tessa is distressed that this means they must launch missiles against the base, and orders steps to try to minimize human casualties.
Then, without even moving, she spills a whole folder's worth of papers all over the floor.
Among them she disvocers a strange document...the 7 rules of trash duty. Kalinin hastily reclaims it before she can read more, but Tessa wonders...
At the school, Sousuke has to learn how to seperate the trash (he seems somewhat unaware of ecological problems)- and he's sort of nervous about it (having fallen victim of an unintentional pun). Kaname takes pity on him, and demonstrates- and manages to quickly, and efficently, do the work herself, in a manner that leaves everybody (Sousuke too) impressed. She cheerfuly offers her help, whenever it's needed. Sousuke tells her, quite bluntly, how appreciated that is. Everyone is surprised to see them getting along so well, and Kyouko snaps a picture of them together.
Back at the safehouse, a very tired-looking Sousuke is going over Kaname's trash rule list, when Kurtz serves up a huge plate of soba noodles. Sousuke asks him if its some sort of wierd spaghetti (Kurtz's response- 'aren't you supposed to be japanese??').
Melissa leans in (food!)- and tells Sousuke he's ordered to sleep the next day (a no school day), and then steals all of the noodles. She was rather upset to realize Kurtz used the whole can of overpriced crab.
The next day, Kaname and Kyouko are headed for some stores, when a wierd, blond man jumps out in front of them, and begs the pretty girls for help, as he's lost (he uses awful english :). Kurtz spends the rest of the day with Kaname and Kyouko.
Melissa, monitoring in the M-9, is pretty damn pissed ;)
Back on the Dannan, preprations to launch missiles is underway. And off they go! As it will be several hours before they arrive at their destination, Tessa has some time to nap if she wants, but she prefers not to (as she may have nightmares). She asks if the guards will be recalled after the base is destroyed, and Kalinin agrees...hesitantly...
Back at the safehouse- the opening of the front door wakes Sousuke (who apparently prefers to sleep *under* his bed). Naturally expecting the worst, he greets the intruder fully armed, but it's only Kurtz. Drunk and bearing leftover sushi. Apparently Kyouko encouraged him to have some drinks, and he couldn't resist even though he was on duty. Melissa is up too- positioned behind a tipped table, also aiming at the door. She says maybe she should shoot him anyway, for having gone out with their ward.
Sousuke asks him why he is trying to get close to the target, Kurtz replies it makes it easier to watch over her, Sousuke retalitates with one 'maintain impartiality' counter, and Kurtz dodges with a 'We talked about you' to distract him. Kurtz does an awful imitation of the girls 'Oh, someone new just transferred into our class..' and asks if Sousuke wants to hear it. He denies it, and then decides that, yes, since it's relevant to the mission. Kurtz tries to make him beg for the info, but Melissa's picked up possible trouble...
An intruder is scaling Kaname's building. The team moves into action- Melissa monitoring from the M-9, Kurtz on a nearby roof with a sniper rifle, and Sousuke on Kaname's roof in position to confront the guy. Melissa orders the situation taken care of and cleaned up before Kaname gets out of her nightly shower...
Sousuke rappels down to her balcony, just as the intruder has reached her sliding door. Sousuke drops him, the guy goes down without a fight, in fact the intruder looks a little too clumsy and amatuerish to be a real threat...
According to his ID....the guy is Shinji Kazama, from Kaname's class. Kurtz, on the com, sounds amused, he tells Sousuke to check out what Shinji's holding- a pair of Kaname's panties. Kurtz and Melissa decide the situation is over, and head back, but Sousuke decides he's going to figure this situation out (since everyone else seems to get it, but aren't explaining). Shinji begs forgiveness, but Sousuke just wants to know whats going on.
Of course Shinji recognizes him from class, and of course Sousuke insists he isn't Sousuke...
Shinji tells him he was just stealing panties, and wonders if Sousuke is doing the same.
He denies this pretty firmly- its just a conicidence that he's there (he needs some new excuses!)
Why does Shinji want her stuff? Shinji explains he's been bullied by the older boys in his photography club- Kaname is known by them as 'The #1 Idol you don't want to date', which makes her a target for them. They've stolen Shinji's photos, and is holding them ransom until Shinji gets them her panties. Sousuke gets it now, but thinks its too much of a hassle for Kaname. Shinji knows, but he really wants his photos- they're of Arm-Slaves!
This leads the two guys into an AS discussion in which each is impressed by the other's knowledge (even though Sousuke is, of course, trying not to let slip how much he really knows, or any classified information...)- meanwhile Melissa and Kurtz have broken out the junk food and beer, amused by the new friendship.
Also meanwhile....and forgotten...Kaname is getting out of the shower...
Suddenly she slides open the door, clad only in her towel, and is greatly displeased to see the two boys casually chatting on her 4th floor balcony. Sousuke realizes his mistake (forgetting about her), and hopes to explain (which would have probably been a lousy explanation anyway) but doesn't get the chance after Kaname sees that he's (still) got her panties. The guys are such idiots, to think they're safe, when she calmly walks away-
She's just getting her baseball bat- and doesn't hold back.
BOOM!
...goes the missile into the russian research lab.
The Danaan is monitoring the impacts, and ensuring the lab is destroyed.
Tessa is appears pained by the destruction.
A man on the phone is panicking- all of the information from the 'whispered' research has been lost. That man is on the phone with Gaulun...
Who tells the panicker that it's too bad the Kremlin didn't know about his research. The USSR government would have been able to protect and recover it, if they had known about the research. Gauln also tells the man he has a DVD with all of the 'lost' information on it- he's taken care of his own needs. The man freaks, he wants that data! The sound of a door slaming open, and Gaulun listens as USSR agents arrest the man for using Kremlin resources for private work.
Gaulun smiles.
Kurtz and Sousuke are discussion the most recent incident while Kurtz is (yet again) tending his injuries- Sousuke wonders what Kalanin's face would look like, if Sousuke were killed by his ward.
A fax comes in from the Danaan, Melissa reads it. It says that the mission protecting Kaname is over, the threat has been dealt with. Also, they have vacation for a week, but Sousuke is ordered to still attend on the school field trip. Everything's already been paid for...and Kurtz encourages him to go along if only for the experience. Sousuke reluctantly relents, but only on the principle that experience is all that counts.
The next day, boarding the plane to Okinawa, Kaname is *not* pleased. She stalks along the line of students, being loud and harsh. Sousuke approaches her with a trash-duty question, and Kaname yells at him not to bother her. Shinji tells Sousuke that perhaps that it should be expected that she would be mad, for finding others hanging out on her balcony playing with her underwear in the middle of the night.
Sousuke doesn't reply, he has a strange expession.
Kyouko catches up with Kaname, and asks her why she's so scary today. Kaname mutters about everything being just *normal*.
On the plane a businessman greets a stewardess, and chats her up about what a hassle it must be, having a plane full of students. Maybe they should just be thrown out at cruising altitude, he jokes. It's Gaulun, and he's spotted Kaname. End, as the plane departs
Damn, is Gaulun ugly!
This one maintains the quality of the first two- visually, humorously, ect.
I think Kaname was perfectly justified in her reaction with the bat. I mean, what else should she reasonably be thinking??
After all, she was half right, just aiming for the wrong target :)
Also amusing- all 3 of them, Melissa Kurtz and Sousuke, seemed to totally forget the possiblity that Kaname was gonna discover them. None of them seem to think, Hmm...maybe it would be smart to not be having a discussion right there...
Also interesting- why does Kalinin try to hide the trash rules from Tessa?? Clearly he wants to downplay it, as if he doesn't want Tessa to know everything that's going on with Sousuke in Tokyo.
