A young man in an airport- Takuma Kugayama. He's trying to clear Tokyo Customs, and is having a lot of difficulty sticking to the matter at hand. He's sweating, pale, nervous, and wierdly fixated on the Customs official's messed-up tie. Finally, Takuma has too much, and he leaps over the counter and viciously attacks the man.

*Dangerous Safehouse*

Flying over a green land on a sunny day- Melissa is leading a mission. She issues the orders- her and Sousuke are to take out the enemy vehicles, Kurtz covers. He complains and Melissa tells him he should take it easy, it being his first mission since recovering.

The three M9s drop in via parachute, and easily subdue the small town who's defenses would be better against simple ground forces.

Back on the Danaan Tessa is distressed to hear from Melissa that it was the wrong target.
Melissa reports there is no sign of the terrorist group A21.
Tessa apologizes for wasting their time ;)

Tessa worries, in part because this group, A21, posesses russian equipment...
Just then a new report- a memeber of A21 was taken into posession at the Tokyo airport. It looks quite possible this boy is Whispered.

Back with Melissa's team, they're sitting around getting ready to leave...when Sousuke rememebrs he forgot that he was supposed to meet someone yesterday. He figures that person must be angry... Sousuke needs some help with japanese history, apparently.

At school the girls are playing softball...and Kaname is pitching all strikes...

Kyouko wonders why Kaname's so ...eager... and wonders if something happened with Sousuke yesterday...
'Nothing at all! Nothing at all! After all he didn't show up!!' (Yes, that person is angry, no matter how much she tries to play it off)

Kaname's called up to bat, and imagines it as Sousuke while swinging...
The poor innocent ball goes flying, a clear cut homerun...Kaname's running the bases, and...*thunk*
The ball bounces off of...midair? Everyone stops and looks...then a whirr, a sudden wind, a raised dustcloud, and who's standing there but Sousuke? He tries to play it off all cool, and asks her if she's angry about yesterday...
Very sarcastically she says 'of course not! WHY would I be ANGRY?'. Sousuke's relieved she's not mad :) and tells her something came up and he forgot, and walks away...

Kanme's terrible face scares the second-base girl...

Kyouko sees Kaname's gonna do something outrageous, but can't yell soon enough- Kaname puiks up second base, and hauls it at Sousuke. She's got aim and strength, and nails him in the back of the head, sending him sprawling. Then she gets tagged out.

Later, at lunch, generous Kaname's sharing. She accidently had too many leftovers the previous night, and has brought them in to share with her girlfriends. Sousuke sits in the back of the room with Shinji, brooding. Kyouko calls Sousuke over, since Kaname made the food for him, which Kaname *strongly* denies...he comes over anyway.
He brings over a box, which he places next to Kaname- it definitely gets her attention. He tells her he had them made just for her...damn she gets red. Inside gold jewelry- earrings and a bracelet. All the girls get excited, and Sousuke explains they have a practical use for when he can't be around....and Kaname figures what this is about....
She acutally lets him explain a little bit while she gathers her temper....
The earrings are special self defense, they explode with a bright flash, which Kaname decides to test right then and there.

Tessa meets up with Kalanin at the location where Kazuma is being held. Security is very heavy, and the location is assumed to be secure. Tessa looks at Kazuma through a one-way glass, and sees a young man sitting handcuffed to a chair.

She's surpised to hear about what he did at the airport. She was called to see him because, when tested, he might be Whispered, and Tessa is the only one who can confirm if he has experience with the Lamda Driver. Kalinin explains the boy is unbalanced mentally and emotionally, and his memory doesn't seem to be complete.

Suddenly Kazuma looks towards the glass, and throws himself at it, right where Tessa is, growling, grunting, and banging the glass. He has to be drugged to unconciousness.

Tessa knows he is Whispered, although they still need to complete the tests...

She's in the middle of explaining that if this boy has worked with and initiated LD, there must be something bad somewhere that uses it...when an explosion outside disrupts her.

The 'secure' location is under attack. Kalanin pulls Tessa away from the windows, and wants the focus of their security on protecting her, although she insists their target is Takuma. But that discussion becomes moot, when they see the enemy is coming with Savages, which easily destroys their forces.

A Savage aims at the building, and Tessa is frozen in place, watching it aim right at her. Kalanin throws himself in front of her and takes the brunt of the blast.

All is quiet, and a woman steps from the Savage and into the destroyed building.

They are looking for Takuma, but it's no luck, he's gone and 'out of range'. The woman, Seina, says they have to find him.

A man has found a survivor,- it's Kalanin, injured. He tells Seina he's her enemy.

Later... Kaname's walking home from school. She stops, annoyed Sousuke is still following her. He stops too, behind her the same distance as he follows.
Nope, he corrects her, he lives in this direction too.

She's huffy. Sousoke (who doesn't get it yet) explains to her that he had apologized, and she had said she wasn't mad. He thinks they should try to get back to normal, as it would help his duty to protect her.
She's even more annoyed. His duty...that's what always comes first. Now she yells at him to not let her know, when he fights or gets into trouble. Basically, she doesn't care to know about that part of his life.
Sousuke's pretty mcuh speechless, even more so after she tells him she hates him and runs off. In her elevator, shes thinking about what an idiot he is, then leans on the wall and wonders who the idiot really is. (She's been wearing the bracelet...)

At Sousuke's appartment, somehow, he knows someone else is there.
He draws a gun and sneaks in, only to find Tessa and Takuma. She's really glad to see him, and explains she's not that great with her little gun...

She is about to tell Sousuke who takuma is, when he suddenly lurches up and attacks Sousuke, who easily knocks him out. Tessa says the sedative must have worn off...
He serves her tea, and she explains what happened. In the attack, she had taken Takuma, stolen a car, and came to the appartment. She knows about it from Melissa...
But she feels overwhelming guilt for having to leave Kalanin. Sousuke tells her that Kalanin had been doing his duty, and that he is surely still alive. He also tells her that when they first met, they were enemies. Kalanin is the most intelligent and difficult enemy Sousuke's ever fought, and Sousuke can't believe he could be dead.
Tessa giggles, and says he is exactly like Melissa said (with his strange manner).
She says they've never talked like this before, like friends...and that they're the same age.
Would they look like a couple, she wonders, if they walked holding hands...
Sousuke starts to sweat... and gets even more formal with her. After all, she is his captian, and he automatically (and nerviously) agrees with everything she says. She tries to tell him its alright for him to be casual with her, but he clearly finds it impossible.
She decides this isnt getting anywhere and decides to take a shower.

Sousuke's really unsettled by Tessa's aggressive advance.
After making contact with Mithril to report the situation, he talks to Takuma, and is displeased that Takuma seems to have listened to everything.

Then the doorbell...it's Kaname. She's really embrassed, and has shown up to apologize for earlier. She doesn't do it easily, but Sousuke smiles and tells her that it's alright- she doesn't need to apologixe since he's the one always making trouble for her. She's really happy to hear that, and has brought dinner for him...perhaps they could share it?
Things could acutally be normal again...then Sousuke remembers they aren't normal again, and starts to get *really* nervous.
Kaname wants to come in, to prepare the food, and Sousuke realizes that that might not be very wise....
but he also can't fake his answers to make a decent excuse for her not to come in....
He makes a really awful attempt at keeping her out, and then totally drips sweat trying to tell her that he would explain whats going on, but its a really complicated situation, and it would take too long to explain and he doesn't think she'd believe it anyway...
And then Kaname sees shoes...
A pair of girl's dress shoes...
Just then, Tessa leans out into the hallway, in only a towel, needing something to wear...
Now, Sousuoke might not be the brightest guy in this department, but he sure knows he's in for a lot of trouble :)

Comments-
Wierd but funny. Better quality than the previous episode.

Another lazy visual error- in the lunch scene, from behind Sousuke is wearing his school jacket. From the front, he's not. Sloppy Gonzo.
