A review of episode 15
*Wind Rising in the Homeland 2*
A blast, and shooting at the Mithril team that's
trying to make it's way through the rough terrain.
The enemies are in persuit, after the warhead...
The ARX's sensors pick up something approaching...
It's helicopters...the team takes them down. There are
Savages too, a small army of them, and the team can't
use their ECS systems for all of the sand. They're
stuck, on the edge of a cliff.
Sousuke suggests they go down the cliff, for he knows
where they are. They can hide in the hill below...
His knowledge is challenged, and he has to explain he
fought here, in this land, many years before.
They attempt to hold off their attackers, but end up
going over the side in the raised dust anyway.
The enemies discuss now the missing nuke thieves, and
come to the conclusion that even the latest model AS
couldn't survive a fall over this cliff.
The pilot of the red AS, we finally see his scarred
face, he comes to the conclusion that 'Kashim' really
is the Kashim he's thinking of.
The Mithril team is laying low for the moment. Majesto
is suffers in pain, and they've just run out of
sedatives. They need to remove the bullet in his
side, and Bill had the only medical kit. Jackson
demands Majesto to stay alive- he still owes him
money.
Outside of the truck, Sousuke comments that they have
too much baggage- Jackson assumes he means Majesto and
is rough with him, but Sousuke clarifies he means the
warhead.
They can't get through to mithril...
Jackson wants to head for the nearest town, but
Sousuke thinks different...
He tells them that the nearest town is a 3 days walk
from here, and they'll probably run into the enemy.
Now Sousuke wants to attack, and the others want to
run away.
Sousuke thinks they have a better chance fighting than
running, and Jackson, yet again, gets in his face.
Majesto agrees with Sousuke though- he recognizes they
should have listened to him from the beginning. He
asks the others to listen to Sousuke.
Gray thinks they should get Majesto to a doctor, as
priority. Sousuke's more willing to listen to
her.
They walk on...
As they walk, Gray asks Sousuke more about his
experience here. He explains it to him, as the others
listen. He began fighting as a gurellia here when he
was 8 years old. He shares that he wasn't the only
child fighter- there had been a boy only 3 years
older, named Zaido. This launches a memory sequence- 2
young boys in the back of a truck- shooting- running-
attacking ASs- triggering explosives- sitting around a
campfire- young Sousuke napping with his rifle as
Ziado watches over him-
and yes, Zaido has the same scar that the red AS pilot
bears.
He explains he had a good relationship with everyone
in the group even though he was just a kid, but those
people aren't alive anymore. He thinks of a group of
short, tattered, white flags stuck in the
ground...
Choppers fly overhead, the team is hunched in the
shadow of a steep-walled valley...
Gaulun is talking with Zaido. He wants that warhead
back. Zaido says it will be okay, as Kashim hasn't
recognized him yet. Gaulun is concerned about a past
friendship messing with Zaido's actions, but he
assures Gaulun he's not interested in risking his life
for something like ideals or passions.
Gaulun is pleased
Poor Tessa looks absloutely miserable. She sits with
sleeping Kalinin, and imagines Sousuke returing....
Andy's annoyed- they can't travel fast enough.
Majesto's really pain, but they can't do anything for
him yet. They are about another 10 hours from
town...
Sousuke tells them they could go to an old camp he
knows. There may be medical supplies there...but it
will be out of their way.
Zaido has tells Gaulun the Mithril team has changed
direction. He had assumed they would head for the
town, but it looks like they may be heading somewhere
else. TO this particular camp location it looks
like...
The team is slogging it through, and finally they
arrive. It's a little run down hole-in-a- cliff- long
abandonded. Sousuke is looking for those supplies, and
Jackson examines old bullet holes in the camp's walls.
He asks if Sousuke had really stayed there, and he
replies yes...
Fighting in a camp is bad, Jackson says, and Sousouke
replies, yes.
Then he finds a med kit, and they prepare for the
surgery. Sousuke takes lookout.
In the ground near the camp are stuck a multitude of
short tattered white flags.
Gray comes out, it's over, but they can't move Majesto
just yet.
She thinks maybe they could hide here for a little
while, but Sousuke tells her the enemy would
definitely find them. Gaulun knows about this
place.
He tells of an incident in the past- Gaulun was one of
those who attacked this place. Sousuke had been away
just by chance, and was the only survivor. Sousuke
belives his old friend, Zaido, died in that
attack.
Gray explains she grew up in eastern Europe, an area
long torn apart by war.
She had been with a resistance group, and had ended up
surrounded by enemy AS. The promised reinforcements
never arrived. It was difficult, but now she's with
Mithril.
She says the others probably are similiar, not that
they'd ever tell of their pasts.
She asks him to consider joining their group. They
need someone who can really fight, and he gets a
passing grade in her book...
He's speechless, and she tells him to think about it,
and to answer her when they get back.
She had turned to leave, but stops...and asks him if
it was strange to return to his homeland. He not sure
what she means. It's Japan, and she asks if he has
anyone in Japan waiting for him. He denies it, but
says it feels like there is, but really there
isn't...
She tells himn it's already night in Japan, and he
looks up at the sky.
A beautiful clear night over an ocean resort- and
Kaname gazes at the sky. Melissa brings her a drink,
and they sit and talk. Melissa asks her is she feels
more secure with Sousuke watching over her...but
Kaname says it really isn't like that.
Melissa tells her that when Mithril knows what is
going on, they'll let her know- and she'll tell
Kaname. Kaname's worried about him, and although she
doesn't mention it, Melissa sees. Melissa tells
her he'll be alright, and that she should buy him a
present and meet him when he returns. He'll likely be
tired when he gets back... Kaname nods, and looks
at out at the full moon...
That same full moon over the camp- Sousuke, Gray and
Andy confer over a map.
He tells them that Gaulun will probably behave the same
way as before...
...As Zaido tells Gaulun Kashim will probably think
they will attack the same way as before...
Sousuke says they have to set up ambushes, for they
won't survive a direct assault.
Zaido says the enemy will have to resort to sniping
and ambushes...
Sousuke knows they need to set up somewhere easy to
shoot from...
Zaido points at his map, showing Gaulun where he thinks
Kashim will set up.
Gaulun grins...
Sousuke, in the ARX, is in position on a high cliff.
He's ready, armed with a sniping rifle, but knows he
probably isn't as good as Kurtz would be...
Andy tells Sousuke that although he doesn't have a
likable personality, he fights well.
He wants to knock Sousuke out when they get back to
base, just because, so Sousuke can't die before then.
Sousuke won't make that promise, but says he'll
try....the others laugh, but without rancor this
time.
Sousuke sees the enemy approach- a small army of
Savages and one silver AS.
Suddenly a warning from AL- and aa shot is fired at
him from above and behind. Choppers move in, and
Sousuke evades....Zaido sits on a cliff above, silent
and still.
End

Comments-
Eh, come back later if you acutally care...
