The bridge of the Daanan
Back up a few mins- Gaulun issues the evacuation drill orders while Tessa and Kaname look miserable together.
On the American sub-
The captian is receiving information about the 'toy box'. They've 'sort of' dectected it, enough to determine its heading. They move to lie in wait for it's arrival at their chosen point.

*Jack in the Box*

The drill alarm on the Dannan is sounding.
Sousuke and Kurtz running- they wonder if Gaulun has caused problems, and know he's well armed if he has.
In the hanger, the crew wonders what the heck is going on. Marducas stands with the lady- she asks if this situation seems wierd.

Gaulun breaks down the situation for the bridge crew and his two traitors.
The front part of the Daanan consists of the hangar, the missile silos, the armaments, and now, assumably the entire crew (minus those on the bridge).
The back half has the living areas, the engine, and the power systems.
The two halves are seperated by the central control bridge. Gaulun's program has sealed off the the three parts from each other, and so there will be no rescue.
He asks Tessa if it's a good plan...
Tessa says she doesn't think it's all that great. After all, the crew has access to the Arm-Slaves, and would be able to burn through the seals using that equipment.
Gaulun smiles and admits he did think of that, so he does have a counterplan- and he orders the Daanan to adjust the sub's atmosphere to the highest possible oxygen concentration. Oxygen, in concentrated amounts, is highly flamable, and sparks or an open flame would cause a terrible explosion. Also, high amounts of oxygen has a drugging affect on the mind, and it's probable that the crew would be unable to even think of such a plan, due to the effect.
Tessa demands that he stop these actions, and he tells her he's the captian now, she can't give him orders- and laughs.

A helicopter coming in for a landing on a ship at sea-
Two american soliders watch, and comment on the strangeness of a high-ranking pentagon admiral meeting with a forigen, unknown solider. Seems the ship is merely a acting as a conference place for them.
One of those soliders is the ship's captian. He gets a report of 'the Pasadena'- and groans thinking about it's captian, a man named Seila. The captian would rather not mess with any situation involving Seila...
The ship's captian mutters with his second, as they watch Kalanin be greeted by the admiral.

The Pasedena is approaching their chosen wait point.

Marducas has a headache, but he tells an officer (Nora, I think) he's just too old these sudden situations. She smiles sympathetic, until she overhears other crew members groaning about wierd symptions. Supicious, she heads over to the room's air controls, and discovers the altered amounts of oxygen. They are unable to do anything about it, though, and further discover that they are unable to communicate with the bridge.

Tessa's thinking hard, and realizes an idea...
She 'speaks' to Kaname in the manner of the whispered...
Tessa explains that the Daanan doesn't recognize her as captian, and it will require an unusual operation to restore the system. She nudges Kaname, and when they both see Gwen slacking off on his watch, Tessa slips her a small key and paper. Tessa explains the key is to the personal safe in her quarters. Kaname must go there, and, in the safe, find another key- a 'universal' key, she calls it. From there, Kaname must take the uni-key, and go to the sub's central computing room (the heart of the daanan, Tessa calls it).
Kaname asks for some clarification, and Tessa tells her she's unable to personally leave the room, because she's uncoordinated and lacks escape skills. Kaname protests, and ends up speaking her protest out loud- getting Gaulun's attention. He asks her what she said, but she doesn't respond....he asks her what she has in her hand. She still looks down, not responding, and he brings his gun to her head...
Kaname cringes but still refuses to answer...
Suddenly Tessa jumps up and draws her personal mini handgun- and yells for Kaname to run. She shoots at Gaulun, but only gets hair as he falls out of the way... Gwen crouches, only worried about his own safety, and Kaname jumps over him, running out into the hallway.
Dannigan tries to grab for her but only rips her jacket, and shoots at her as she flees- she yells but keeps running.

Elsewhere- Kurtz and Sousuke hear the shots...

Dannigan curses Kaname, and takes off after her, determined to kill her, and Gwen follows.

Kurtz and Sousuke agree the firing was coming from the direction of the bridge.

Gaulun is angry.
Tessa's gun is empty.
Gaulun is livid.
He walks to her, complimenting her on her little act, and knocks the gun away.

On the ship, Kalanin is having a tough time with the admiral. The man wants information about the 'toy box', and Kalanin can't help him out- he can't admit that such a submarine as the Daanan exists. The admiral makes a subtle threat, telling Kalanin to remmeber who the world's police force is (the USA). They agree to go to the bridge for some distraction.

Tessa is now cuffed, and being pulled up by her braid. Gaulun is really angry at her, but is enjoying it nontheless- he tells her he's already decided on how to punish her for her actions. Gaulun orders the Daanan to locate a nearby surface ship of any sort.

Back with Kalanin- The ship's captian quietly informs the admiral that an ally sub (the Pasedena) may have located the much talked about 'toy box'. The admiral tells this to Kalanin, and, again, makes a subtle threat.

Kaname has found a moment of quiet- she's hiding in the locker room. She mutters a little bit, but removes her jacket, shoes, and socks- and slips silently out into the hallway, running towards tessa's quarters.

The Daanan has found a ship- Gaulun orders the launching of two missiles with that ship at their target. Tessa frantically protests- the ship and it's crew are innocent. The Daanan doesn't respond to Tessa's orders. Gaulun does, knocking her to the floor as response, and orders the launch as the bridge crew sits, cuffed and helpless.

Kaname's made it to the safe- and found the uni-key.
She's turning away, but something else in the safe catches her eye- tucked in between some books is a photo frame. Timidly, hesitantly, Kaname slides it out, and her expression changes from worried to sad. The picture is of Tessa and Sousuke on a beach (it's from the time she asked for his help training).
Kaname sighs, and slips it back into place- reprimanding herself that she has a duty to do. She slips out the door, unsure where to go, but her problem is quickly replaced with another- Dannigan comes around the corner.

Up on the ship- sensors are indicating an oncoming missile attack. The crew moves into defensive, evasuive action. One missile goes down harmlessly, but the other pierces the ship's side, and takes out the helicopter in the hanger. The explosion rocks the ship.

The Pasedena has heard the impact the ally ship has taken. They don't know the status of the ship, but they can determine that the attack came from the location of the suspected 'toy box'. Hotheaded Captian Seila decides they will return fire.

Tessa is on the ground, listening-
Gaulun is surprised that the ship is still afloat. Seems the missiles weren't loaded, and he's angry. Tessa had decided, as captian, not to travel with loaded missiles...
He angrily calls her 'former' captian...

The ship's crew is busy with damage control. On the bridge, they can determine the missiles weren't loaded, and the explosion was only because of the helicopter. The admiral raises his gun at Kalanin, and demands an explanation. Kalanin doesn't know what's going on, but says that if a sub as advanced as the americans think the 'toy box' is existed, the ship would have been destroyed easily. Mithril also has no reason to attack an american ship, and he points out how strange an empty missile is. This throws off the admiral some but he won't admit it. The crew brings to his attention a quickly approaching storm.

Sousuke and Kurtz have found a body- they've found McKaren.
But they don't have time to stand around wondering- they hear a racket coming from the mess hall. They don't run far before they're shot at- and Sousuke barely jumps out of the way. Gwen curses Sousuke's survival ability, and tells him his 'girlfriend' is in the mess hall, but that he has no intention of letting him get to her.
,br> Kaname's out of breath- Dannigan's chased her. Now he teases her, and she flees into the kitchen.

Gwen shoots at Kurtz and just gets some hair.
Sousuke determines Dannigan must be the other traitor, the one currently with Kaname. Kurtz says he'll try to distract Gwen, to let Sousuke escape and to go help Kaname. Kurtz tells him to apologize for his earlier words.

Kaname's been fending off Dannigan as best as she can- but considering she's unarmed and he's got a gun, he's just playing with her before killing her. She finds a frying pan, and she threatens to swing just as Sousuke runs in yelling her name.
He ducks beyond the tables as Dannigan turns and opens fire. Sousuke decides to rush, and Dannigan shoots at him, but Kaname whacks him with the pan from behind, preventing him from getting a good shot. Sousuke jumps into Dannigan, but gets backed into the wall- Dannigan tries to strangle him but Sousuke shows him guns are more effective at killing.
After Dannigan goes down, dead, he runs over to Kaname and asks if she's alright, if anything hurts- she looks at him a moment, replies 'everything', and starts to cry.
She doesn't look at him as she tells him she doesn't want to be any trouble, and that she can take care of herself and that she isn't scared!
Very nicely Sousuke tells her that he's sorry, and that she isn't any trouble. He reminds her that in fact she's acutally been a huge help- and that if it weren't for her, he'd be dead. He says that, twice, and tells her not be so silly as to say she doesn't need his help. She says she understands, but stops when she sees Sousuke's taken an injury, but it's only a very shallow scrape along his arm. He offers her his hand, and she takes it...
Kaname smiles...
Then there's a new alarm sounding.
Sousuke jumps- it's an attack alarm.
