The target audience for these summmaries are those people who haven't seen it all, but are so hooked they have-to-have-it-all-NOW. You know who you are. Don't mind my dry sarcasm, and I'll try to keep my personal comments separate.
Please note that more often than not, all 'quotes' are paraphrases- not exact quotes.
*Into the Blue*
The two Arm-Slaves stand, facing off
(back up a few moments...)
They draw the knives, and Sousuke launches at Gaulun.
His attack is so vicious Gaulun can barely defend- and Sousuke keeps going- attacking and attacking.
The Venom falls back, but shakes off all damage. With the Lamda Driver it blasts the ARX across the room.
They both get to their feet...
The bridge's main monitor is showing the action.
The bridge crew is trying to deal with the various damage the Daanan is suffering.
They're having a hard time with it though, and they curse Gaulun...
Gaulun casually uses his knife to behead a nearby AS, making Sousuke think of melissa...
Gaulun drop kicks the head at Sousuke- to no affect, and the two end up headbutting.
Sousuke gets in a good slice, and then after a minor scuffle, gets in a hit. No, several hits- acutally the ARX keeps slamming the knife into Venom, which has gone down.
Mechanical fluid begins to pour down around Gaulun, who only smiles...
The sub is tossed by the storm, and they slide together across the floor slamming into a wall- then Sousuke decides to beat up the Venom some more before backing off when it doesn't react. Suddenly Venom lurches up, grabs the ARX's arms and pins them. It can't move, held so tightly by Venom.
Gaulun declares his surrender. But maybe not- he orders Venom into self-destruct mode, set for 3 minutes. He does this with much cheer.
Sousuke makes a pathetic struggle- and again they slide across the floor together, this time coming to rest on a floor lift.
Gaulun asks Sousuke if they could just get along for their last few moments, and Sousuke realizes Gaulun's set up for self-destruct.
The time is ticking down, and Sousuke begins to really struggle, but his AS is stuck beneath Venom- almost entirely immobile.
Kaname-Daanan is thinking of herself sitting on a watery surface. She dips her cupped hands down, and then brings them up...
Suddenly the floor lift begins to move upward, but only Sousuke can see they are now moving. Venom is face down, and can't tell.
Gaulun gloats over how his explosion that will sink the sub...
The Pasedena sends out a warning, and the Daanan picks it up. The bridge crew acts to evade but the sub's condition is a problem. Tessa is still out cold.
On the ship-
Kalain is on the phone. He hands it over to the admiral, saying the high-ranking Mithril offical would like to speak with him- and the admiral is shocked to hear it's.... the American president?!?
The admiral quickly and nerviously orders a cancel of all attack actions.
The Pasedena is annoyed about by that order, but they cancel the launch...
On the Daanan-
The crew are relieved to see that the sub has stopped their intent to attack.
Kaname-Danan slowly leans backwards with a sense of 'opening'...
The hatch doors of the flight deck opens on the storm.
The bridge crew is surprised, and Marducas walks in demanding to know what they think they are doing, opening those doors in a storm. They insist they didn't do it, and they don't know where the command came from. They can't stop it, either, although the ship systems are not malfunctioning.
Kaname's cheerful face suddenly flashes on all monitors, followed by a screen saying 'dont worry, everything is gonna happy' (that's the english)
Tessa's woken, and tells them it's all alright...
She smiles- so does Kaname, who again lifts her cupped hands...
The AS's are still rising through the sub on the lift- and still struggling.
Gaulun loves the situation and gloats over the fact that Sousuke can't manage kill him like a good hero would...
Time is running out
Water sloshes onto the flight deck and around the emerging Arm-Slaves. Gaulun lets Sousuke know theres only half a minute left, and calls him 'honey' in the process.
Sousuke reacts by punching repeatedly into Venom's side, with little effect. Gaulun's counting down, and teasing all the while- giving his manic laugh.
A shot of Kaname's face...
Time is running out
The ARX glances to the side when the deck's launch lights light, and at the end of the deck Sousuke sees a glimpse of Kaname, but the rain blurrs the image...
slowly, agonizingly, the ARX begins to pull both it and Venom along the deck floor towards one of the launch runners.
Time is running out
12 seconds... and it's a struggle-
Gaulun cheers 10 seconds left- and with a sudden jerk of the ARX the two, intertwined, land within reach of a runner.
The ARX grabs it, and lets loose a line. Gaulun seems not to be noticing, and he manically declares his love for Kashim...
Sousuke yells for Kaname to launch...
And the runner takes off, dragging the two Arm-Slaves to the end of the deck. Now Gaulun realizes something's up tries to fight, it but too late.
They both go over the edge.
They seperate as they arc out over the water, and the Venom does down as the ARX swings on it's line tethered to the deck...
The countdown hits all zeroes and the explosion, now underwater but close, rocks the sub.
Kurtz braces unconcious Melissa in the stairwell.
Marducas braces with Tessa in her chair.
The sub groans and shakes. A plane comes loose of it's anchor lines and crashes into a wall...
Then all is quiet as the sub straightens.
The bridge's main monitor shows the flight deck, and only water washing across it.
No sign of the ARX.
Marducas orders the flight deck closed but Tessa cancels it. She yells, asking Kaname if Sousuke's alright. Kaname's ghostly face appears superimposed over video of the deck- she smiles slightly before disappearing.
At the end of the deck the ARX drags itself up and over the edge, tediously.
Tessa nearly cries with relief.
Inside the ARX, Sousuke is pissed.
Seeing no sign of the Venom, it suddenly drops and begins to pound on the flight deck shaking the sub some more. It sounds like an omnious gong everyone on board hears.
'Kashim' he mutters 'Kashim is already dead! shithead!' he yells. Tessa cringes, but Kurtz grins when Sousuke swears. The crew is mostly stunned, but really, the whole event has been quite surprising.
Kaname-Daanan apologizes, thinking of the incidents in the past. Perhaps she really doesn't know him, she says, but thinks he's great, really great.
Sousuke, walking alone, down the hallway.
Tessa gives the orders for the Daanan to dive and it sinks beneath the waves.
Kaname confirms the sub's safety, and disengages herself from it.
Later
The Daanan has docked at the island base.
The crew is in ordered lines as Tessa calls role, noting the missing. She calls for McKaren, but there is no reply. She thinks of him accepting her chaste kiss at the party- and Marducas tells her he's 'on patrol'.
Melissa, Kurtz, and Sousuke are present and accounted for, but Laing is also 'on patrol'.
Two flag-draped coffins are loaded aboard a plane. Tessa, alone, accepts the folded flags and she salutes as the plane departs.
Later
Tessa is staring at the drink machine.
She looks about to cry, but also like she's frozen in place.
Steps approach, Kaname says Tessa has been like that for ten minutes. She tells Sousuke to go try to cheer her up.
He's momentarily surprised, but turns to Tessa anyway.
We don't know what he says to her, but she turns and cries on him, and he puts his arms around her.
Kaname watches a moment, and then walks away, leaving them.
Kaname alone, packing, with a sad expression.
Kaname alone, suitcase in tow, stops when Sousuke calls her. He approaches her, and asks her to accompany him, to her surprise.
She follows him through the woods on a beautiful day, interrograting him.
'This isn't anything wierd?'
'Nope, not wierd.'
'Not dangerous?'
'Not dangerous.'
'Its' here...'
'Here' is a cliff overlooking a broad expanse of ocean. Kaname is thrilled by the view.
Sousuke's unpacking fishing gear, and she asks what this is. It's his secret fishing place. He's the only one who knows about it. Kaname seems uncertain as she tells him but she only has about half an hour if she's going to make her flight back to Tokyo, but Sousuke isn't particulary concerened. He's very relaxed and cheerful as he explains this was a part of the planned mission anyway, and casts out. He says he wanted to bring her here all along, but the situation had been difficult.
He gives the fishing rod to her, and preps his other one, and comments that maybe they'll be able to catch something good before she has to leave.
She sits next to him and says it's impossible to catch anything in just half an hour...
He disagrees, cheerfully. He tells her thet when he's with her, he feels like he can do anything, or that anything is possible. Catch a big on in a little bit of time, or escape a lethal situation....
He casts out the other, and says half an hour is fine. He aks her to stay with him while she can.
she asks if that is what he really wants, and he replies that its only because of her that he's there.
She smiles happily, shrugs, and says they might as well test his wierd theory-
And sure enough it's only a moment before she gets a bite from something so big she needs Sousuke's help just staying on the cliff (much less reeling it in).
Kaname even has to wonder if its a whale- and Sousuke thinks that is entirely possible (given his theory).
Kaname declares they *have* to pull it in- 'Understood!' Sousuke shouts.
